The IES is hosting two Kenen Fellows in 2020-2021.

Sebastian Sotelo is an Associate Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at the University of Michigan. Much of Sebastian’s research focuses on the connections between international trade, migration, technical change and labor markets.  Recent papers of his address the inequality implications of evolving occupations and the evolution of work in the United States. He also works on issues of trade and development, especially in Latin America.

Matthew Turner is Professor of Economics at Brown University, having joined the faculty of his alma mater after spending nearly two decades at the University of Toronto. Matt is broadly interested in environmental and urban policy and serves as a Co-Editor of the Journal of Urban Economics. His recent research focuses on the economics of land use and transportation. Current projects investigate the effects of the interstate highway system on US economic development, the relationship between subways and urban air pollution, and the determinants of global particulate exposure.
